What Can You Accomplish?

Monday, August 11th, 2008

And how are you going to accomplish that goal?

What is the most difficult aspect of accomplishing any goal? Taking the first step! We all have many good ideas each day but the true hurdle is in implementing the idea. Have you ever seen something in the market-place and thought to yourself, “I thought of that years ago!” Well guess what, so did somebody else, only they had the imagination to implement the idea! You know what though, you can implement ideas too! The most difficult part is taking the first step, especially if you don’t really know where it is you’re going!

That’s how you make positive changes though. Take steps even if you don’t know what the outcome is going to be, learn, grow, and when you arrive somewhere different tomorrow you will have an alternate perspective in which to assess your situation. Do you want to build a really cool website? Well, from my experience, you’ll need to build a couple awful ones first! That goes with anything. In order to be successful at something, you must fail many times in order to become good at what your trying to achieve. You can’t step up to the tee and out-drive Tiger Woods, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting up to the tee and trying until you do!

Summer Time Rolls

Having a Good Summer

Well, we’re almost half way through the summer and I STILL haven’t found the time to volunteer. What the heck is wrong with me! Have you volunteered this summer? What are we going to do about this? With so many opportunities to give back to the community there really is no excuse. I am making it a point to volunteer by the end of this month.

Here’s a list of some volunteer options in the meantime. See what you can contribute, even if it’s only a couple hours on a Sunday morning.

General Election

4 months to go!

Do you know who you’re voting for? No offense to McCain but I’ll probably be voting for Obama. Well, maybe the following will be a little bit offensive to McCain… The guy is another bumbling idiot. He may be the smartest guy “on the inside,” but come on everybody… isn’t it about time we have a smart guy “on the outside?” I respect John McCain’s service to our country, and I don’t really think he’s an “idiot,” but the guy just can’t speak very well. I don’t know if it’s because his old age or because he’s just lost some of his wit over time, but he just can’t walk and chew gum at the same time if you know what I mean.

I believe that the vocabulary people use and what they say is a good indicator of how smart they are. If you read my last post entitled “My Favorite Bushism’s,” you can get an idea of what I’m talking about. We need a president that speaks well in order to bring back some respectability to our country. If the leader of a nation doesn’t make any sense when they speak, what does that say about that nation? Would you take them very seriously? If the roles were reversed and John McCain was a great speaker and Obama didn’t make any sense when he spoke, then I would probably vote for McCain (even though I don’t agree with his views… we just need a smart person in office). However, that’s not the case and with McCain starting to use Karl Rove tactics in his campaign, I have no choice but to vote for Obama.

Ultimately, do what you think is best for the country but take into account the path we’ve been taking and decide if you want to continue on that path or make some positive changes and put a well spoken smart person in the top position of our country.
