Summer is Here
Time to Bring Out the Bathing Suit!
Summer will be here in a couple weeks, but here in Cincinnati, OH, it already feels like summer. The pool at my apartment community is already flooded with people laying out and diving into the pool. Maybe you need to burn a couple of those pounds you put on during the winter before you show off that nice bathing suit, and now is the best time to do it! Put on those walking shoes and go outside and walk around your neighborhood or ride your bike if that’s what you prefer. Fresh fruits and vegetables will abound so take advantage of your local farmers market and start eating healthier.
Sunlight to me is the best. I feel so good walking around outside in my flip-flops and soaking up the sun, meeting new people, playing games and spending time at parks. I like laying out by the pool and taking a dip on occasion. I enjoy watching the flowers bloom, families playing games and cooking out with friends. I am very excited about this summer because I think this will be the best summer that I’ve had in a long time. I am healthier now than I’ve been in a long time, in the best shape that I’ve been in for a long time, and am looking forward to meeting many new people and having fun.
I used to think that I could only be happy year-round if I lived somewhere that was warm year-round. I would get depressed during the winter months, thinking that it was the winter months that was making me depressed! HA! What a joke! I now realize that it’s not any outside influences such as the seasons, how much money I make, or any of the other external factors that was making me depressed during the winter… It was always in between my own two ears! I always knew this old saying but I never applied it to my own life: No matter where you go, you will always be there. It wouldn’t have mattered if I was in San Diego, I would have still found something that made me depressed, at least for a few months of the year! I REFUSE to live like that any longer. I am going to be happy year-round no matter what! This summer is the start of a new outlook on life for me. I have a great job, am in good health, cleaner, nicer, more fun to be around, and am very excited for the future.
Make this summer your summer to make positive changes in your life. You truly can do ANYTHING you want to do and make any changes you want to make. If you have time, read my post entitled “Personal Development,” where I talk a little bit about how you can make positive changes in your life and in your community. Well, I’ve done my work for the day so it’s time for me to get out and enjoy the sun!
