My Favorite Bushism’s

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Another “just for fun,” post

Here are some of my favorite Bushism’s.  What’s your favorite?

On Education:

“Then you wake up at the high school level and find out that the illiteracy level of our children are appalling.”

“You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.”

“One of the great things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures.”

On the Economy:

“I cut the taxes on everybody. I didn’t cut them. The Congress cut them. I asked them to cut them.”

“Recession means that people’s incomes, at the employer level, are going down, basically, relative to costs, people are getting laid off.”

On the Environment:

“I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.”

“Natural gas is hemispheric. I like to call it hemispheric in nature because it is a product that we can find in our neighborhoods.”

Please everyone, remember it is VERY important that you vote in the upcoming General Election.

Eating Healthy

What’s for dinner?

If you’re like me, you have a tough time eating healthy. It’s tough to get the right amount of the daily food groups if you live a busy lifestyle. What I try to do is mix it up as much as possible. One day I’ll have meats and breads, maybe some dairy, and then the next day I’ll have fruits and vegetables, etc. Some days I try to get them all in but I believe the key is to just mix it up as much as possible. I also try to abstain from fatty foods and sweets as much as possible, though they do slip in there on occasion!

Below you can see a picture of my dinner tonight. This plate, with a bowl of cheerios and a glass of orange juice has been my dinner a couple times in the last week. I think this is my favorite meal right now!

Fruit Plate

Fruit Plate

If you find yourself eating a lot of fast food and sweets, I urge you to give the above meal a chance one night this week. After you start eating healthy you will find that you start to feel better and think more clearly. Throw in some exercise and you are well on your way to becoming a new person! The old saying “you are what you eat,” is very true. What else can your body be made of other than what you put into it? It’s not like you are regenerating your cells out of star dust or anything like that, so take heed to what you are putting in your body and you will live a longer healthier life. Once you start feeling better and having more energy, you can use that energy and new outlook on life to make this a better place for everyone to live.

Start eating some fresh fruit, lean meats, nuts, salads, and other healthy food and I promise you that within a month you will be amazed at how great you feel. I exercise about 5 times a week as well, but even if you can start at about 2 or 3 times a week, your progress will increase exponentially. I’m excited about the future and I’m very excited for your future if you start doing the good things too! For those of you that already eat healthy and exercise regularly, you know exactly what I’m talking about. For those of you that don’t, jump on board with us!

The Nietzsche Family Circus

Art raises its head where creeds relax.

Here’s a link to the randomized Nietzsche Family Circus which pairs random Nietzsche quotes with various Family Circus pictures. Enjoy.
