I haven’t had much of a chance to work on my websites and it appears like that isn’t going to change any time soon. I’ll be moving to Boston in the next few months so my girlfriend can begin her Neonatology fellowship. I find it fascinating how a person’s life changes for the better if they continue to improve themselves. Read some of my personal development posts if you get a chance. Making positive changes in your life can be difficult but very rewarding. (I just realized from looking at this picture compared to some a year or so ago that I’m starting to get pretty buff from all the working out too… Check out my post from February about Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. It’s truly no joke if you follow the information, I have a six pack under there!)
After much headache and very little time to work on online ventures, I have finally gotten the first version of John Chowderhead up and running. I enjoy reading blogs and looking at the different styles and personalities of each individuals site. Now I’m using that hobby to create a central location where people can get their blogs reviewed and read an unbiased opionon about some of their favorite bloggers. As of this writing, you can get your blog reviewed for only $10!! Get your name out there and a linkback to your site from as many places as possible. This is one cheap way to do it right now but I don’t know how long I’ll be able to keep it at $10.
A tax dollar saved. So it appears California Assemblyman Tom Ammiano is going to try to pass a bill in order to legalize marijuana in that state. Good for him. According to their statistics if they tax marijuana at $50/ounce their state will receive approximately 1 billion dollars per year. Not to mention the tax dollars they’ll save if they get all of the offenders out of their legal system.
Why is marijuana illegal? We could talk about the marijuana tax act or possible conspiracy theories, but I believe the reason marijuana is still illegal is that there hasn’t been a big enough push to legalize the plant combined with the fact that most people aren’t very smart. It’s funny when I think about it like that… It’s just a plant, like tomatoes. Could you imagine not being able to grow a tomato plant? We’ve been conditioned to think of marijuana as an evil plant that turns people into monsters or causes them to become heroin addicts. I can’t believe we still think like this. Then again, most people in the United States still believe that a Jewish zombie is coming back to take people’s souls to a magical place.
When it comes down to it, the only time marijuana will become legal is when there’s money to be made or we need the money badly enough. It seems we might be at that point. Let’s only hope we can some day stop turning our brothers and sisters into criminals just because they like to relax occasionally.
