About Me, C&N, and Why I Built This Site
I live near Cincinnati, OH in a small town in northern KY. I have a BBA in Decision Science and Information Systems from the University of Kentucky and am a Certified Transportation Broker, certified by the TIA. I work full time brokering freight and the rest of my time I spend trying to improve our society and myself. I do not have any formal background or education in politics or sociology, but my passion for human rights and social justice fuels my quest to bring topics concerning those issues to light. I believe that if you are a part of this nation, or any other democratic nation, you have a duty to hold leaders responsible for their actions and to fight to make changes for the betterment of your society and to stand up for the rights of the people in order to keep the government and corporations in check.
One of the reason's I chose to write about these topics was because these topics are quite possibly the most scary and difficult topics to discuss, and at the same time, the most important. We each have strong beliefs about political and social issues but we may hide our true beliefs so that we do not alienate friends, people in our family, co-workers, strangers, and anybody else we may be connected to now or in the future. This website will allow those of us that are timid about sharing our views, or looking for information about a "taboo" topic, to discuss and research those topics without the fear of repercussions.
We might be scared that some people will think we're "stupid" and that sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people "think" you're stupid, than to open your mouth and let them "know" you are. "Why take a risk of speaking your mind to anybody and everybody that has access to the Internet?" you may ask. My only answer to that question is that I feel that it's my duty and obligation to speak about these things because I have a passion about these subjects and believe that even if I can help just one person find the information they are looking for, make somebody laugh, or just help someone be more involved in making positive changes in our society, the ripple effect from that movement will help the lives of many people in the future.
I have many pages on this site from the serious side to the lighter side. You can make positive changes by working on or submitting projects and have fun by reading some of my rantings in the Grinds My Gears section. I also have a blog where I post the GMG topics and other articles and essays. If you have any burning questions or are just curious about various political or social topics, then visit the Answers page to find answers to what you're looking for.
